17 days....$750 dollars to go.

Well I'm leaving for Mexico in a little over two weeks. Today we met with our university Presidents wife to talk a little bit more about where we are going, and to learn more about Mexico history, racism, religion, and current stuff going on there. They were missionaries in Guatemala for a number of years, so she has lived near the region of Mexico where we are going, and has visited often.

You can see above where we are going to in terms of where Oaxaca is located. We are flying from Chicago to Ciudad de Mexico (Mexico City) and then to Oaxaca City. From there we'll take a bus into the mountains to get to the orphanage where we are going to be serving at! The orphanage is relatively new (2 years old), so we'll probably be doing labor such as pouring cement and construction. Wooo. That'll be a change from the desk job I've been working the past 5 months.

Here is a video to give you more of a visual of where I am going, and what the FFHM orphanage is all about. Click HERE for the link to a video of FFHM missionaries in Oaxaca right now! The video is a little scary at first because it shows some of the turmoil that has recently happend there. It's all over now, but Mrs. Parkyn said that we'll see remains of it (grafitti, destruction, and stuch) in Oaxaca City when we go.

Please keep praying for our safety and for the funds to be provided for everyone to go. Also, if you want to help support other students, plus win some stuff, please go to www.missionsauction.com to bid on items that have been donated to Global Partnerships. All the money raised from the auction will go into a scholarship fund that helps students financially pay for their partnership trip.
