bienvendio mexico

well, im finally in mexico. the scenery is BEAUTIFUL and we 5000ft above sea level, which has taken a toll on me, causing dizziness. but its ok. it was more like the first day we were here it was really bad. but now im fine. around us are all these beautiful mountains, and the sun is so warm and beautiful. the mission...is gorgeous. nothing like i expected. the construction is quality construction, and it is a beautiful building and guesthouse we are staying in. we have been working really hard digging trenches (yes), sewing dresses for the s (my main job), and fixing in a fountain to make it work for the first time ever! when the fountain is finished, the kids will be able to play in it while its hot.

two interesting things that happend to me today

1) i experienced my first earthquake this morning!
2) janelle and i just found out that the new orleans team that is from Norht Park is being aired on MTV next week! they are doing a news piece called #an alternative spring break#. How exciting!

Well, dinner is starting, the sun is going down on the mountains, and creating a beautiful pink and purple sunset. i never want to leave here.

burnin' from both ends

Tonight was the LIVE Missions Auction to raise money for our scholarship fund to go towards sending people on trips. We set a goal of $2000 for the live auction, and $2500 over all. Well, we got $2000 on the button tonight, plus we still have the online auction to go! If you are interested, please visit our Online Auction Website which will be up and running sometime this weekend. We have Sox tickets, and tons of other items to choose from. Plus, it's for a good cause.

Anyways. So my roommate, my boyfriend, and I were in charge of putting the show on the road, and I am so tired. I cannot wait to get on the plane next Saturday, open up my magazine, and have nothing to do but look out the window for hours and hours. I just am wanting a slower pace of life right now. The past two nights, I have stayed up til 4:30am working in our University Ministries office organizing donations, printing off fliers, and starting to form the auction. Plus, I've had to tackle classes (4:30am bed times and 8am class times don't mix...but I haven't missed a class yet!), work, and auction stuff...plus cleaning my apartment. Those are pretty much my priorities in that order...so you can't even imagine what our apartment looks like.

Anyways, I received $250 the other day, which was a huge blessing on a Monday morning to see! Now I only have $500 or so dollars to go in 10 days!

Please be praying that I don't get sick from my 7 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours, and that the rest of this weekend will be restful. Thank you for your support so far!
